MPUME MTHOMBENI
Mpume is an actress, dancer and performance artist based in Durban. She has performed with numerous theatre companies. She is one of the Directors of the NPO called Arley's Workshop which specialises in Educational theatre, She has won several awards including the Standard Bank's Standing Ovation Award.
NEIL COPPEN
Neil works as a writer, director and designer. He has won several awards for his writing, acting, design and direction work. In 2011 he was named the Standard Bank Young Artist Award for Drama, which was followed by the ISPA fellowship award to New York in 2012 and 2014. He was included in The Mail & Guardian’s 2011 200 most influential Young South Africans list
NGCEBO CELE
Vumani started working in the performing arts when he was in grade 10 at Sibonelo High School. His acting is inspired by the likes of Bheki Mkhwane and John Kani. He has appeared in numerous theatrical productions including Just Don't , One Among Many the Musical, The Bull Called Bahlangane, Camp 13 and Sugar Daddies.

Director, Playwright and Theatre maker Neil Coppen directs this project alongside actress Mpume Mthombeni. Co-director Dr. Dylan McGarry is an educational sociologist and arts-based development practitioner who oversees the ethnographic research and facilitates the social learning processes connected to the production. The BIG BROTHERHOOD team is an accomplished community theatre group who are both theatremakers and citizen 'sociologists' who set out to capture the stories and lifeworlds of various people caught in the complicated web that is street-level drug addiciton. The play has been written collectively as a team.

Ngcebo has appeared on many theatrical productions including 'Just Don’t'; Madam President, Camp 13, The Blue Jacket, Sugar Daddies and The Bull. He started acting in high school and in 2007 he was awarded a Learnership at Ekhaya Multi-Arts Centre by the Department of Arts and Culture.
Sandile began acting at school in 2007, and by 2009 he joined Ubuntu Besizwe Productions as well as working on a shows at K Cap Mult Art Centre called Broad Way. Sandile's career was really kickstarted by the TWIST theatre devlopment project. He has been involved in several productions in Durban. His role model is Siyabonga Hadebe.
Menzi studied Drama at the Durban University of Technology and graduated Cum laude. He has worked on the Dutch-English stage production of Oliver Twist in Holland in 2010 with director Jolanda Van der Spoel. He is also an awarded playwright, with his script “Last Cow Standing” winning the Scribe Script Competition at the Cape Town Fringe Festival 2014.
Zenzo has appeared in Camp 13 as Spirit, the General of the guerrillas of Umkhonto WeSizwe performed at the Market Theatre in 2014. He joined the Big Brotherhood in 2009, and is an accomplished sound designer and theatre technican. The exposure to theatre he has had over the years working backstage inspired his acting career, and he is a formidable actor in his own right.

Phumlani is best known for his theatre role as Nongoloza, a prison gang leader on a production called Just Don’t and as Mr Khumalo in Sugar Daddies. He has acted in several other theatre works, and performed at the Grahamstown Arts Festival and the Market Theatre. Phumlani is one of the founding members of The Big Brotherhood.
Dylan is a educational sociologist and artist, and carries a trans-disciplinary PhD in Education with a focus on transgressive Social Learning and Social Sculpture. Dylan has recently undertaken a post-doctoral fellowship at the URBAN FUTURES CENTRE at Durban University of Technology, and is currently collaborating on a international working group on transgressive social learning.

MONIQUE MARKS
Professor Monique Marks, is the director of the Urban Futures Centre, at Durban University of Technology. She is a sociologist that specialises in policing and criminology, and heads up a larger research program examining street level drug use and abuse in Durban.
